Registrar details
A quick overview of each integration and who it is best suited for.
Namecheap
Best for: Established domain portfolios already managed through Namecheap
API eligibility: 20+ domains, $50 account balance, $50 spent in the last 2 years, or manual approval
Highlights: Reads your full domain list and expiry dates on each sync. Auto-renew status is imported as read-only.
Good to know: Your server IP must be whitelisted in Namecheap before any API call succeeds.
Porkbun
Best for: Affordable domain portfolios managed through Porkbun
API eligibility: Standard account with API access enabled
Highlights: Simple JSON API with no IP whitelisting required. Domainion can toggle auto-renew directly from the app.
Good to know: Your Secret API key is shown only once when created — copy it immediately or you will need to regenerate both keys.
GoDaddy
Best for: Large domain portfolios managed through GoDaddy
API eligibility: Domains API access usually requires 10+ active domains or an eligible GoDaddy API plan/membership
Highlights: REST API with straightforward key and secret authentication. Domainion can toggle auto-renew directly.
Good to know: Use Production API keys from developer.godaddy.com — Test environment keys return empty domain lists.
Cloudflare
Best for: Domain portfolios registered and managed through Cloudflare Registrar
API eligibility: Domains must be registered through Cloudflare Registrar
Highlights: At-cost domain pricing with no markup. Domainion can toggle auto-renew directly.
Good to know: Only domains registered through Cloudflare Registrar appear — domains merely proxied through Cloudflare DNS will not be listed.
DNSimple
Best for: Developer-friendly domain management with a clean REST API
API eligibility: Standard DNSimple account with API token access
Highlights: Simple token authentication with no IP whitelisting. Domainion can toggle auto-renew directly.
Good to know: Use your Account ID, not your User ID — they are different values in DNSimple and found on different pages.
